Regenerative Agriculture, Climate Resiliency, and Ecosystem Services Headline 2023 Watershed Forum

Binghamton, NY—Whether you live or work within the Upper Susquehanna River Watershed and beyond, you’ll want to learn about the many perspectives that contribute to water quality for New York from the soil up.

The opportunity “playbook” for working together and inspiring the next generations of land and water stewards will be highlighted at the 2023 Upper Susquehanna Watershed Forum at Binghamton University on October 18th, 2023 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Headlining the program are:

Mike Barnes of Mt. Upton, NY based, CoBar Dairy Farm who will talk about the benefits of large scale regenerative farming practices.

Dr. Olivia Godber, Research Associate for Cornell’s Nutrient Management Spear Program will present on the role of livestock in circular agricultural systems.

Anne Phillips, Dairy Farmer and Organic Valley’s NY East Regional Pool Manager will discuss Organic Valley’s new Carbon Insetting Program.

Aaron Ristow of American Farmland Trust will describe the successes of regenerative agriculture in the Genesee River Watershed.

Graydon Dutcher, Delaware County SWCD Stream Program Coordinator will highlight nutrient reduction strategies through stream restoration work.
